Magic Note is designed to keep your data on your device. We collect as little information as possible and are transparent about what we do use.
All notes, cards, folders, and blocks you create in Magic Note are stored locally in a SQLite database on your Mac. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it.
When you use AI features (asking Claude a question, summarising text, etc.), your note content is sent directly from your device to Anthropic's API using your own API key. Magic Note does not proxy, log, or store these requests. Anthropic's own privacy policy governs that data.
If you use Magic Note Pro and start a free trial or activate a license, we collect:
This data is stored on our server and is not shared with third parties. You can request deletion by emailing support@magic-note.ai.
Magic Note Lite (the App Store version) collects no data. There is no account, no server communication, and no telemetry. Your API key is stored only in your Mac's local preferences.
magic-note.ai uses no third-party analytics, tracking scripts, or advertising. Server access logs (IP address, request path, timestamp) are retained for up to 30 days for security purposes and then deleted.
The website uses a single session cookie for authentication on the dashboard. No tracking or advertising cookies are used.
Magic Note is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
If we make material changes to this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
